MEAT

Clients are asked to quarter their kill and bag into evenly weighted game bags .The meat should be left on the bone (except for the neck and rib cage).  However, boning out the meat is acceptable if it is an extremely long/steep pack to the trail.  NOTE – all meat must be packed to a horse trail for pickup.

Elk - 2 hind quarters – 2 front shoulders and 2 evenly matched loose meat bags – Total: 6 bags.

*Deer – 2 hind quarters – 2 front shoulders – Loose meat can be evenly distributed with the quarters. – Total: 4 bags.

Head and Antlers:

Clients are asked to “Cap” the skull if there is no intention of a European style mount.  If a European mount is your plan, you are asked to skin out the skull in the field, remove the lower jaw, and remove as much of the meat on the skull as possible.

Hanging Your Animal – Waiting for Pickup:

Please contact Del Sol immediately after killing an animal to arrange pickup and to discuss logistics.  You must get your animal to a trail and hang it appropriately to avoid spoilage. This is especially critical during archery season in the Snake River.  If you hang your meat, choose a shady side of a tree. The location of the meat must be clearly marked with flagging.

Plan to meet us at your base camp to go pickup your meat or at least direct us to it.

Please CONtACT us if you have any questions!
